The preacher proclaims the gospel, focusing on a central truth from the Scripture  about who God is and how God acts.  In turn the congregation responds with praise, submission, or confession.

The sermon does not leave us with a long “to-do list,” but rather calls us to the Lord’s Table to offer up all of who we are and to receive all of who Christ is – week after week.

We emphasize preaching-the-gospel because the Scripture addresses our whole selves in relationship with God.  We also value in-depth teaching the text (and we teach the text during our 9 a.m. classes) but in our worship gathering, teaching is always the handmaiden to gospel proclamation – calling us into a life with God.
